EFLA PRIMARY CONNECTORS

We are proud to stock the EFLA range of AGL equipment which we have come to know as the best in the industry for design and quality of manufacture.

The most critical points for failure of insulation values in an airport lighting system are the plug and socket connections at each isolating transformer. Unlike most cable systems that may have one or two joints AGL systems can have hundreds of joints and if these connections are not of the highest quality and properly installed the insulation of the system is put at risk.

The EFLA field assembled 5kV rated primary connectors are the best in class and the design of the new KDL range of connector demonstrates why.

There are two types of KDL connector, the KDL1 is used for earthed systems using screened cables and the KDL10 is for unearthed unscreened cables most common in Australia.

Instead of relying solely on o ring seals inside the sleeve both connectors incorporate a unique cable gland system that allows controlled pressure to be applied to the joint to ensure the best possible seal on the cable. In addition, the gland system allows a wide range of cable sizes to be accommodated by a single joint kit.

The cable gland arrangement also improves installation times by up to 50%.

A further advantage offered by the EFLA plug and socket design is the retaining clip which unlike the conventional “super kits” is rigid enough to ensure the correct alignment of the plug and socket when the connection is coiled , thus preventing deformation of the socket and ingress of moisture and will resist up to 25kg of pulling force to ensure the connection is not separated.
